About
Maya Bond is an animator and illustrator interested in creating work that integrates physical and digital media; she’s always loved painting and drawing, but as her practice has developed, her love of watercolor and its ephemeral nature has grown. Her animations often begin as watercolor sketches or pencil drawings that she imagines coming to life through movement. She recently completed her capstone film, Omma (2026), a personal film inspired by her grandmother. Omma was her final work before earning her BFA in Digital Arts from the Pratt Institute, where she maintained her place on the President’s List over her four years there. Currently based in New York, she works as an illustrator and freelance animator.
